The jar is dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning and shatter-resistant to prevent breaking. Users can have mixed feelings about the 48 oz. polycarbonate jar on the KSB465, though. Some people think that it is a good replacement to heavy glass jars that higher-priced blenders have since it is more lightweight while others want the quality feel that the glass jars provide.
