Pros: Easy to install, Attractive design, Good Convection/Microwave Combination, Large 1.5 Cu. Ft. capacity
Cons: Controls could be better, Exterior gets hot
Review: The GE Profile 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Oven is a good substitute to a standalone convection oven or a standalone microwave oven. It combines the two technologies into one, providing greater savings and leaving more room in your kitchen counter. If you're planning a kitchen remodel, you can even purchase the optional built-in trim kit and give your kitchen an instant makeover. We particularly recommend the black/stainless steel combo but you can also get it in full black or full white. The front panel has a cooking completion reminder and an easy-to-read digital display. It is smudge-resistant to prevent unsightly fingerprints and in fact, easier to clean than other models. However, the exterior of the unit gets hot, so be careful not to touch it with bare hands to prevent injury. The controls could also be confusing at first but it is smooth-sailing once you get the hang of it. The GE Profile has a large 1.5 Cu. Ft. cooking capacity wrapped inside and out with stainless steel as well as 1000 watts of power that cooks food quickly and locks in the juices and nutrients, especially when used in tandem with the convection cooking system. From a thorough broil to delicate browning of edges, this oven does it all with minimal effort. The included rack enables pastries like brownies and small cakes to be baked and the oven uses the innovative sensor technology which monitors and automatically adjusts power levels and cooking time. 12.75 inches of turntable space allows most items to be cooked while pre-programmed settings accessed with one-touch button presses make doing simple tasks like broiling and defrosting heavily frozen food quicker. Finally, the GE Profile 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Oven has the requisite child-safety lock precautions in place, so parents don't have to worry about their children accidentally opening the oven while in operation.
