Pros: Nice quality, Wireless, Supports mobile printing, Two-sided output
Cons: Set-up takes a while, No fax function
Review: The Lexmark S315, an upgrade to the S305, is another great wireless printer from one of the big names when it comes to office equipment. It is as good as any all-in-one but without the fax capability. It connects via USB or through its built-in 801.11b/g/n WiFi. For those who require the fax function, you would need to look further, but for those who are more concerned with quality and in search for a printer that can do the most basic tasks which is printing, scanning and copying, the S315 will be worth your while. It features a design shift over its predecessor, with a two-toned, more professional-looking and less-homely appearance, and also comes with a few more notable additions such as a 2.4" Color LCD, automatic two-sided printing and support for mobile printing for effortless printing from your tablets or Android and Apple devices. Installation process is not difficult but can be time-consuming. A firmware upgrade is also needed during set-up. Still, for its wireless ability, it seems like a fair trade-off. You can break free from messy wires and print wherever you are at the office or in your home. The S315 is a complete mobile printing solution. It is not limited to Android and Apple devices. You can even print pictures taken with your camera or those stored in your memory cards and thumb drives. For added convenience, it features two-sided output and a 100-sheet paper capacity. It can also print on different types of paper, up to 8.5 by 17 inches, and scan with a maximum resolution of 1,200 by 1,200 ppi. The Lexmark S315 is bigger and therefore, heavier than the S305. Both the quality of the unit and the prints are impressive and outstanding. Every user knows that the capacity of the cartridge dictates how much you can print, which is why, the S315 is also more practical to use. There are optional high-yield ink cartridges available, so that you can keep working and printing.
