One such air filter device is the HEPAClean HHT-001 Air Purifier from Honeywell. It covers an effective indoor area of 85 square feet, or a little under 8 square meters. The compact frame makes it suitable for placement on tabletops to keep it out of the way. The HEPA-type, or High Efficiency Particulate Air filter at the heart of the purifier traps up to 99% of allergy-causing foreign materials that can be easily washed off and cleaned to save on money. In fact, regular cleaning may prolong the life of the unit. An optional ionizer attachment also increases the air-cleaning and purifying power by killing airborne bacteria or viruses, as well as removing stale or bad odors from the air. The ionizer is not recommended for asthmatic users though. A CADR rating of 55 for dust and smoke and 65 for pollen gives this purifier a marked edge in cleaning household allergens. The Honeywell HHT-001 has a soft night-light feature that illuminates the front of the unit and another light that signals when it is time to clean out the filters. It also has three fan speeds to choose from, with the rate of air cleaning dependent on the speed. Reports however indicate that it tends to become a little loud as speed goes up.

Despite its size the Enviracare HEPA purifier removes 99.97% of all airborne particulates, but what we love most about this HEPA air filter, however, is its effectiveness. To find an air purifier at such a low price that's this effective at eliminating pet dander, pollen, mold spores and other household allergens is rare and with a 375 square foot range it's one of the best in its class. However, there have been complaints about how loud the fan can become on some settings. But with such a powerful air filter being given away at such a reasonable price it's simply too good to pass up.

Aside from electronic controls and multiple fan speeds, a turbo and a sleep mode are both present for fast or quiet performance. While it has a Charcoal pre-filter for eliminating odor, it is one of the AP51030K's weakest points as it doesn't get rid of unwanted odor quickly. That said, you still need to open the window for a moment if you want the irritating smell caused by cigarettes, cooking or other factors to completely go away. On the contrary, the Quiet Partner System enables it to be effective and quiet at the same time. The AP51030K is not as noisy as other air purifiers, even when placed on turbo mode (highest setting). Review: The QuietFlo HEPA air purifier by Hunter is a powerful air filter that filters all the air in a room up to 6 times per hour. This 3 speed air purifier is relatively quiet and can be mounted on the wall, laid on its side or sat upright, which makes it easy to fit into just about any space. It features a carbon pre-filter that improves odor control and works with the rest of the 3M Filtrete filtration system to eliminate 99.97% of all airborne particulates including dust, pollen, tobacco smoke, pet hair, lint and other particulates as small as 0.3 microns in size. The only thing we love more than its incredible filtration system is how long the filters last. The HEPA filter for the Quietflo lasts much longer than many HEPA air filters in its class, only needing to be replaced about once a year. However, the technical support for this particular unit is less than outstanding and there have been a few fan glitches, but they're few and far between. Despite this the QuietFlo HEPA air purifier really is a great purifier for the price.

We love this air filtration device's ability to merge strength and noise reduction technology. The Filtrete is the most powerful purifier in its class boasting an efficiency rating up to 13 times more effective than most other air filtration devices in its price range. This air purifier comes in two sizes with filtration ranges of 160 and 360 square feet and is much quieter than most units in its class. However there is the little matter of price. This unit costs a bit more than others in its class and there have been a few fan speed glitches reported in some units. It can also become overloaded when used in homes with multiple pets, but with it's easy to change filters and great technical support, it's a modest trade off.
