The Epson Artisan 50 is a fairly priced printer that can produce crisp, fade-resistant photos and print on printable CDs/DVDs at the same time. It utilizes 6-color Claria Hi-Definition dye ink which greatly extends the life of your prints. The 6 individual ink cartridges also enable you to control your ink usage by allowing you to replace only a single color and not the entire ink cartridge. The ink cartridges are a little on the pricey side but it ensure longer lasting and stunning images. Whether you want to print on glossy, semi-glossy or matte paper, you can throw all your worries away as this photo printer does its job well, regardless of the paper type. It can accommodate up to 8.5" x 44" plain paper and various borderless sizes including 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10" and 8.5" x 11". It also features Manual 2-sided printing and Auto Photo Correction with red-eye removal. The input tray has a 120-sheet plain paper capacity and it can also hold up to 20 sheets of Premium Photo Paper Glossy. With ISO print speeds of 4.8 ppm black, 5 ppm color and 11 seconds for 4" x 6" Borderless Photo, speed is relatively faster than other photo printers in the same price range. Setting up the Epson Artisan 50 is a cinch to do. However, it doesn't come with a USB cable so you need to purchase one separately as it is required for installation. As for compatibility, there should be no issues because it supports major operating systems including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows XP x64, Windows 2000 and Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.11, 10.5.x and 10.6.x. At first glance, the HP Envy 110 looks like it belongs to your home theater set-up. The unique, flat exterior with a large touchscreen and a retractable paper tray fits your space and the modern digital age. Similar to other HP printers, it supports AirPrint and ePrint for easy mobile printing. HP Auto Wireless Connect also offers trouble-free wireless connection. Menu navigation can be done with a single touch of the 3.45" touchscreen display. A free app can even be downloaded so you can control your printer using a mobile device or even without a PC. For those who'd like to send fax messages, the free eFax service is similarly supported by this model. The 110 lets you print straight from your Memory Stick Duo, Secure Digital or MultimediaCard. It can scan 8.5 x 11.69 in documents with a maximum resolution of up to 1200 dpi and generate up to 25 cpm black and up to 30 cpm color. You should keep in mind, however, that it is only compatible with 2.4 GHz routers. The HP Envy 110, although undoubtedly beautiful, has a few shortcomings. It uses two cartridges, black and tricolor, which can be wasteful considering that you can't replace a single color and the replacement cartridges are a little pricey. There's also no automatic document feeder which offers hassle-free printing of multiple-page documents and the capacity of the paper tray is a little low, allowing only up to 80 sheets. But when it comes down to design and ease of use, it is worth the extra cash. It goes beyond the traditional design of most printers and it will really make other people envious of your new printer.
