Genius MousePen 8x6 Graphics Tablet (8
Pros: User friendly, low energy consumption, low cost
Cons: Doesn't work with outdated software
Genius does it again with the MousePen 8x6 tablet. This package comes with a sleek 8x6 tablet, a cordless pen for optimum movement, and a three button mouse. This tablet is ideal for sketching, picture editing and coloring. The MousePen 8x6 tablet is good all around, but what we love most is its cordless pen. This pen has over 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and its price is much lower than most tablets its size. Its sensitivity allows the pen to pick up the subtle changes in pressure that make each artist's drawing style unique. This means you don't have to adjust to the tablet because it adjusts to you. Its compact size means it doesn't consume much energy and with its high customer satisfaction rank it's a deal that's hard to beat. However, this tablet doesn't have an OEM driver for Linux so Linux users will have some difficulty getting it installed. Despite these driver issues, this tablet is one of the best deals around for the price.

Wacom Bamboo Pen Graphics Tablet (5.8
Pros: Portable, Multi-touch controls
Cons: Expensive, No mouse, No ink well, Touchy controls
The Bamboo Pen Tablet by Wacom is a great little tablet for the wood-be artisan in us all. Its style is a bit plain, but what it lacks in style it makes up for in functionality. Its compact design makes it more portable than most other tablets in its class and its pen is designed to fit comfortably in either hand. This tablet is great for graphic design and its sensitive pressure controls make it great for sketching as well, but what we love most about this tablet is its impressive software bundle, most notably Corel Painter Essentials 4. It's the kind of software bundle you would expect for the price. However, it doesn't come with a mouse and the pen has to be at the proper angle to function properly, but with so much included it is well worth the trade off.

Wacom Intuos4 Small Pen Graphics Tablet (6.2
Pros: Stylish, compact
Cons: No travel sleeve, Big for a small tablet, only offers 16:9 aspect ratios
The Intuos4 Small Pen Tablet by Wacom is one of the smaller tablets in the Wacom family, but don't count it out because of its size. It's a powerful little tablet with plenty of features including a touch ring with 4 presets, express keys, customization software, and vista support. Its software package is an impressive one including Adobe Photoshop Elements and Autodesk Sketchbook 2010 Express. Whether you use it for note taking or illustration this tablet has what you need to get the job done. What we love most about this little beauty is its 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. It's this great level of sensitivity which makes it such a responsive tablet. However, we do take issue with it only offering an aspect ratio of 16:9. It's also a bit large for its class, but its thin design makes it easy tote and you have to love its modern design. This tablet is definitely a great buy.

Wacom Intuos4 Medium Pen Graphics Tablet (5.5
Pros: Ambidextrous design, Touch ring, increased sensitivity, pen with rubberized grip, pen holder with nib extractor,
Cons: Expensive, ExpressKey buttons have the same shape
The Wacom Intuos4 Medium Digitizing Tablet provides fast production time for the professional designers, artists and photographers. It provides enough working space with its 48.5 square inch working area. It has a different lay-out from the other Intuos tablets. It features a Touch Ring which enables you to scroll down applications and the ExpressKey buttons are now placed in a single row on one side of the tablet with OLED that indicates the currently selected function next to each button. The Intuos4 has an ambidextrous design that enables both right-handed and left-handed persons to use the tablet with ease. There are two USB ports on the tablet to accommodate the right and left hand orientation. The control panel can be set to match the orientation. Just flip over the tablet whether you're left-handed or right-handed; the text rotates along with the flipping so the tablet is always in the correct orientation. The Intuos4 also includes a pen with 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and a rubberized grip for greater control of your strokes. The pen holder that comes with the tablet not only holds the extra nibs but also serves as a nib extractor. Replacement nibs and a cordless mouse with five customizable buttons are also included. Included in the purchase of the tablet is the eligibility for free downloads of valuable software applications. For the professionals, the Intuos4 Medium Digitizing Tablet by Wacom will be an excellent choice.

Wacom Intuos4 Large Pen Graphics Tablet (12.8
Pros: Stylish, USB hub compatible, Cordless Pen & Mouse
Cons: Expensive
This beautiful little tablet by Wacom is definitely worth a closer look. The Intuos4 Large Digitizing Tablet is a great tablet bursting with features, including a responsive touch dial, express keys, OLED labeled buttons, and a cordless pen to name a few. The pen has 2048 levels of sensitivity and the pen tips are estimated to have a life cycle of about 20 million strokes. This makes the pen for the Intuos4 more responsive and durable than many in its class. Its compact size makes it ideal for travel and its ambidextrous design means whether you're left handed or right handed it's a comfortable fit for everyone. What we love most about this little gem is its 102 ½ square inches of work space. This increased workspace makes it great for illustrators who need a bit more room to create. However, this tablet is a bit on the expensive side, even for its class. But with so many features the price is understandable and with the pen tip's extended lifespan you can expect to get plenty of mileage out of this particular tablet.

Wacom Intuos4 Extra Large Pen Graphics Tablet (18.2
Pros: Large pad, Long lifespan, Compatible with Mac and PC
Cons: Expensive
The Intuos 4 Extra Large Pen Tablet by Wacom is one of the biggest tablets on the market today. It's one of the more expensive tablets in its class, but with so many features it's more than worth the price. The Intuous4 Extra Large Pen tablet has a nice weighted pen which improves sketch quality and control. It has express keys for easy access to its features and its sleek design makes it easy on the eyes, but what we like most about this tablet is the tablet's surface. While the frame is a bit on the slippery side the traction of the actual work surface is remarkable. Combine that with the sensitivity of the cordless pen and you get a real pen on paper feel. However there have been some compatibility issues reported for Windows Vista users. While it has been reported that the vista support for this tablet is poor, these reports are few and far between. The versatility of this tablet more than makes up for any compatibility issues you might encounter. This light, thin tablet is a great buy for anyone who appreciates quality in their tablets.
