TIPS
  1. Camera bags should offer solid, all-around protection for your equipment, especially for lenses (if you have an SLR camera), or the LCD screen. Go for models with sufficient padding and dividers, pockets, and maybe a memory card holder.
  2. A waterproof exterior and leak-proof zippers will go a long way in keeping cameras dry as opposed to just keeping them in a basic case.
  3. As much as possible, get top-loading camera bags with nylon gussets or webs so your items won't fall out.
  4. For more active photography, camera cases that are small and compact may be preferable than bulkier ones.

Pros: Three carrying options, Inexpensive, Great quality, Has pockets for small accessories
Cons: May be small for some

If you want an inexpensive way to protect your valuable equipment and keep accessories like cables, charger, extra batteries and memory cards all together in one spot, choosing the Case Logic DCB-304 is the way to go. Aside from its competitive price and nice design, it has great overall quality and is custom-made to fit the needs of photo enthusiasts. It also provides greater advantage than other affordable camera bags as it can be carried in three ways: through the belt loop, the padded top handle or the detachable shoulder strap. Additionally, it is suitable for use with most high zoom cameras or devices measuring up to 5.8" x 4.6" x 3". It weighs just about 8 ounces without contents and measures 7.5" x 7" x 4.75". The high quality construction of this carrying case is one of its key selling points. It utilizes polyester fabric and has an internal zippered pocket for your extra memory cards as well as side zippered pockets for storing small accessories. There are also dividers which make everything easier to organize and access. However, those who want a larger storage area may need to give this model a pass because while it can fit your camera and an extra set of accessories, it may not hold all your other stuff like lens hood. For the quality of the Case Logic DCB-304, it is quite surprising that it comes with a low price tag. The design is not that bad either. The all-black exterior makes it look rugged and the red lining allows you to differentiate it from other bags. The only thing one can possibly complain about it is its size, but that too, is a case-by-case basis as it may not be a problem to those who are used to packing and traveling lightly.

Pros: Nylon cover material, 15 compartments, Bright and heavily padded interior dividers, Rubber feet on hard underside
Cons: No rain cover wrap, Width limited to shorter lenses

Expensive equipment like SLR cameras and their lens attachments need heavy-duty protection from the elements, as well as from occasional accidents. Solid construction alongside waterproofing and thick padding, such as those present on the Norazza Ape Pro 1200, provides that kind of protection and does it with style. This camera case is a shoulder-slung bag with a wide, comfortable and ergonomic strap securely attached to the sides which takes the weight made by the contents inside. The sleek black nylon exterior opens up using two side buckles, one on the front and the other is through a zipper that reveals a bright yellow inner lining perfect for locating items in low-light conditions. While its exterior is mostly waterproof, the lack of a rain cover makes waiting out a heavy downpour more prudent. The bag's main space can easily be partitioned into sub-compartments using the supplied dividers that attach using velcro. The top, sides, bottom and even the pockets are covered with heavy integrated padding which amounts to more protection for your gear. It can carry your SLR camera and about two or three spare lenses depending on the size, plus an assortment of other peripherals like flashbulbs, cables, filters and batteries in its selection of zippered pockets and compartments numbering about 15 in all. The Norazza Ape Case has an included strap to easily carry around your tripod. It also features hard rubber feet setting off the underside of the bag from touching the ground, a handy precaution should you ever set it down on a puddle.

Pros: Waterproof, Well-padded, Two carrying options
Cons: It may not fit all kinds of conventional cameras

The sad truth about digital cameras, especially the smaller point-and-shoots, is that for all the fancy features and metallic finishes, these are fragile items that are susceptible to usability-ending damage, particularly when being carried around. While the conventional solution would be to stick them in some sort of carrying case, there are times when something more substantial is required. With the LowePro Rezo 30 Camera case, you get not just a good-looking case but also solid all-around protection for your equipment. Its exterior is built from high-grade waterproof microfiber and ripstop nylon to shield against the elements while the interior sports a tricot fabric lining to prevent scratches, especially in your camera's LCD display. Between them is a heavy padding that also makes for a snug fit so your camera won't move around inside the case while you are walking or even running. The main pocket is also double-zippered, with additional nylon gussets attached to the sides to prevent your things from falling out even while the zipper is open. To hold a few accessories, the outside flap covering the case has a pocket which when filled (it can hold a spare battery and memory card), can supply an additional layer of padding. You can carry the LowePro Rezo 30 by means of a tangle-free shoulder strap or on your belt using the LowePro SlipLock tab, which you can also use if you own other LowePro products with the same SlipLock system. It also comes in a range of colors to match your tastes. The LowePro Rezo 30 is such a well-made, quality product that it's difficult to pin down its faults. A minor issue that needs to be said though is that in theory, while this camera case can fit most 35mm point-and-shoots, in the end, it all depends on the camera itself. A list of cameras that fit in this case is available for reference on the manufacturer's website, so if you want to be sure, you could refer to that but all in all, this is a great product to add to your camera equipment.

Pros: Well-designed, Bottom is stable, Improved tripod holder, Safe pockets
Cons: Smaller camera compartment, Supplied microfiber cloth is permanently attached to the bag, Can be a little uncomfortable for women to use

The Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW Camera bag not only keeps your precious camera equipment safe and secure, it also keeps them well-organized through a number of pockets, partitions and dividers. It has enough space for storing small items, so if you only bring along a small number of gear aside from your personal things, you can use this bag for both purposes. Constructed out of the same blend of tough ballistic nylon material and polyester as its predecessor, the SlingShot 200, the 202 AW could be considered as an update made of several small design improvements rather than a full-on upgrade to the 200. It retains some of the features of the previous model like the same quick-swivel sling design as well as the two-compartment setup with the camera and lenses at the bottom half. It can carry camera units with the size of a Nikon D7000 or a Canon SD with an attached zoom lens, 3-4 lenses, flash units, small items and a monopod or a small tripod on the side. A more intelligent design scheme seems to be the general focus of the Lowepro 202 AW though. For instance, the underside is made flatter and more stable than the rounded bottom of its predecessor, which enables it to stand. It also has a better tripod holder (composed of three wide straps on the side) as compared to the single loop offered by the 200. This camera bag has a nice all-weather cover that protects the bag from sudden weather changes and more pockets with zippers that allow you to easily get what you need without having all the contents fall out. On the other hand, the Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW also has its disadvantages compared to the SlingShot 200. An example of which is the slightly smaller dimensions of the interior camera compartment at 8.9"W x 5.5"D x 11"H as opposed to the 200's 8.7" x 5.9" x 11.8". Another thing is that the 202's microfiber lens cleaning cloth is permanently attached to the side of the camera chamber, whereas the 200's attaches by velcro and can easily be cleaned. Finally, women might find the SlingShot's strap to be a bit uncomfortable especially when fully loaded, as it tends to go across the chest.
