IntelliRating: 4 stars
Pros: Simple set-up, Reliable, Guest feature, Nice looking
Cons: Requires more space than standard routers, No status lights on front

Review: Reliability, in addition to speed and ease of set-up, is an essential component of a good wireless router. If you own a lot of Wi-Fi Devices at home, the Linksys E1500 is highly recommended. With speed of up to 300 Mbps, it's almost certain that you can accomplish nearly any task in no time. SpeedBoost also ensures stable and strong signal strength perfect for music and video streaming or for plain web surfing. Setting it up was a no-brainer. It came with Cisco's Connect software that simplifies the process as well as an Ethernet network cable and a Power adapter. It comes with a 1-year hardware limited warranty and is compatible with Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1 and Windows 7 or with Mac systems running Leopard 10.5.8, Snow leopard 10.6.1 or OS X Tiger 10.4.11. Owners of this particular router can download the free Cisco Connect Express mobile app on their iPhone, iPad, iTouch or Android devices. The E1500 is available in different bundles such as a Wireless-N Extender bundle, Wireless-N Computer bundle and Wireless-N Camera bundle for greater savings and to provide an all-in-one solution to your wireless needs. Parental Controls are also featured in this router. Compared to your older 802.11b or 802.11g router, this one uses the latest 802.11n wireless technology for maximum range. Aside from WPA/WPA2 encryption and SPI firewall, you can also tweak your network settings and better yet, create a guest network if you're not comfortable with your guests having total access over your network. Given all those features, the Linksys E1500 Wireless-N Router is an excellent replacement to your old router. Its minor nitpicks are not in any way related to the device's performance or functionality. In fact, the router looks really nice, adding a little style to the usual box shape of most routers. However, due to the design and shape, it requires more space on your desk. It stays flat and cannot be positioned vertically to occupy less space. There are also no status lights on front which lets you monitor activity with a single glance.
